Opportunities for Prospective Students
The MacroBiodiversity Lab is always looking to hear from prospective student aiming to join our research team at Queen's. Our lab has developed a privileged tradition to host talented individuals that have made our history an extraordinary journey, full of excellent and educational experiences about the challenges faced in a scientific career. We aim to continue with this tradition.
Our lab aims to recruit highly-motivated, independent and original undergraduate and postgraduate students to join the lab. Please visit our Research page to have a good look at the work we are passionate about, and get in touch with your CV and a brief statement of your interests!
For Queen's undergrads, and for prospective postgraduate students, note that we have a number of projects available to start immediately. Our lab is characterized for the creation of large-scale dataset covering multiple aspects of the ecology, morphology, life-history, conservation and distribution of amphibians in general and of the exceptionally prolific South American radiation of lizards of the genus Liolaemus. However, we welcome all sorts of novel ideas and model organisms as long as they are viable.
A range of fully funded opportunities exist to support project from prospective students and postdocs from around the world. Please explore the funding opportunities below, and get in touch so we can discuss any aspects of the processes and develop proposal to apply for funding and places.
For funding at postdoctoral level check opportunities for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowships, NERC Fellowships, NSF International Fellowships (for US citizens only), Wellcome New Investigator, and Human Frontiers Fellowships, among others.
For postgraduate studies, essentially PhD level, please keep an eye on our lab website, where we will be advertising newly available funding.
For postgraduate, undergraduate and recent graduates, please note the excellent opportunities funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union for training, which provides grant to people willing to spend some time doing research at a member institution.
