BooksI have authored and contributed to a number of books about biodiversity, evolutionary biology and the biology of vertebrates, intended to reach audiences that range from specialised experts to the wider public. My technical books include a textbook on natural selection and the evolution of adaptations, as well as two monographic books on the diversity and ecology of Liolaemus lizards from South America (in co-authorship with Herman Nuñez), and about the biodiversity of vertebrates from the Atacama desert (published in collaboration with Gilmar Ramirez). I also took part in the book Biodiversity of Chile, published by the Government of Chile (through the National Corporation of the Environment, CONAMA) - this book is a substantial technical 'report' that captures the different aspects of the biodiversity of the country and provides a key platform for environmental decisions, knowledge dissemination and a synthesis of the state-of-the-art of the knowledge.
Recently, I also had the privilege to act as the scientific advisor for the wonderful book Really Remarkable Reptiles (and its french edition) by Jake Williams, intended for a wider audience interested in learning about the diversity, ecology, evolution and declines of reptiles. |
